‘Imprints’ is a series of digital artworks that consciously look at the subconscious. My methodology is to use materiality to manipulate conventional portraits, which are a personification of the subconscious reflecting the uninhibited nature of our existence. These works exist within the blurry line of familiarity and unfamiliarity. The subconscious reflects who we are at our core yet we are unable to grasp the essence of it without using the lens of consciousness. The internet is growing faster than we can adapt, especially with the rise of virtual reality, a realm where we can be something we are not. This begs the question, who are we becoming at our very core? 

 

Through my works, I want to provide a safe space for open discourse about what impacts these constant changes have on our psyches, and in knowing that we are not alone no matter what we are feeling in these uncertain times which force us to come face to face with ourselves.
